Zone trigger, any shape

Catch only the acquisitions whose trace enters, or stays out of, an area you draw on the screen, in any shape.

Add-on video coming

No video of this feature yet. It will be filmed on our own scopes, working end to end, before it goes on sale.

What it does

A zone starts as a box drawn on the plot. Reshape it into an outline of 3 to 16 corners, convex or not, or pick a ready-made Box, Triangle, Trapezoid or Hexagon. Set each zone to Enter or Avoid, and the scope keeps only the acquisitions that pass through it, or stay out of it.

Every triggered acquisition is judged against the outline itself: the trace meets the zone when it crosses or touches an edge or a corner, or lies inside. Zones work on the channels, the logic lines, a math channel, an FFT and XY.

How to use it

  1. Draw a zone on the plot.
  2. Drag a corner to move it; drag the dot in the middle of an edge to add a corner there; press and hold a corner, or tap it twice, to remove it.
  3. Or choose a shape on the Zones page's Outline row.
  4. Over SCPI: :NOVAos:ZONE<n>:SHAPe and :NOVAos:ZONE<n>:VERTices.
