Asked by IanJ on the EEVblog forum, 9 October 2026. Thank you: here is what NovaOS does now.
Having to repeatedly touch something before it registers has been a persistent annoyance (I don't have big fingers). The touch-sensitive areas around text, buttons and other controls seem too small or unforgiving. Increasing the effective touch target areas would make a big difference to everyday usability.
Rigol, along with quite a few other manufacturers, seems to use 50 ms/div as the threshold for ROLL mode, where conventional triggering is disabled. ... Could NovaOS improve on this, perhaps by allowing ROLL mode at faster timebases, or making ROLL and conventional triggering independently selectable?
Personally, I'm not particularly bothered about boot time. Once my scope is switched on, it generally stays on, so improvements to responsiveness and usability during operation are much more valuable to me.
