The Layout button at the plot's top right opens a bar of the views: Math, FFT, XY, Zoom, Table and Meas. Drag one onto an edge of the plot or of a tile and the screen splits there, the R&S gesture: the left or right edge side by side, the top or bottom edge one over the other; while it drags, the half it would take is outlined. A tile's title bar drags it to another place. A tap on a view adds it at the end or takes it away; a tile's x closes it.
The border between two tiles is a finger-wide handle: drag it and the two tiles beside it change size, the others keep theirs. It snaps at a third, a half and two thirds of the screen, and stops where a tile would get too small to read (the main plot stays wide enough for its measurement strip while the strip is under it).
The math tile draws the math on its own grid and scale; the FFT tile the spectrum on its frequency axis, linear or log, with the spectrum markers and their table inside the tile and its references behind it; XY its own square with its cursors; the zoom tile the whole record with the zoom's window on it (the main plot shows the zoom, a drag in the tile moves it); the table and the statistics their own panels. Tap a tile and the vertical knobs act on it: the math's scale and position, or XY's Y channel. A view with nothing to show says so, and a tap there turns it on.
The 1024 x 600 panel shows the tiles that fit it (two or three), the HDMI port's Big screen up to four at the monitor's own pixels. Every tile draws from the frames the plot draws from: nothing more is acquired. The layout is kept across power cycles and shared with SCPI: :NOVAos:DISPlay:LAYout, :NOVAos:DISPlay:SPLit and :NOVAos:DISPlay:TILE<n>:SIZE.
The tiled plot area in the studio (the views bar, the drops, the borders, the tiles' own plots and knobs), its three SCPI settings and their words in every language.
The gestures, every kind of tile on the panel and at 1920 x 1080, the SCPI round trips and a restart, and the frame time with one tile and with four, on the synthetic bench.
Filmed on our DHO and MHO, then in the next release.
Build the layout you use on the R&S and tell us what it still does better.
The views in tiles of their own, as the R&S SmartGrid lays them out: dragged into a split of the screen, sized by dragging the borders, each with its own scale; the FFT a spectrum analyser in its tile.
R&S is the leader IMHO for slick GUI's. Multiple resizeable windows, FFT that works like a spectrum analyser
