1-Wire decoder

The whole 1-Wire conversation, from reset to temperature, decoded.

Add-on video coming

No video of this feature yet. It will be filmed on our own scopes, working end to end, before it goes on sale.

What it does

Finds standard or overdrive speed from each reset by itself and decodes reset and presence, every ROM command (Search ROM and Alarm Search with every search triplet included), the ROM id with its CRC8 checked, and the function command with its data. A DS18B20 or DS18S20's scratchpad has its CRC8 checked and its temperature shown, and a family 01h id is named DS1990A/DS2401.

The event table gives one row per transaction, with the errors marked: a short reset, no presence, slot timing, a ROM or scratchpad CRC, search errors.

How to use it

  1. Decode > NovaOS > 1-Wire on any of the four decoders, with its own threshold.
  2. Trigger on B1 sets a pulse-width trigger on the bus reset, so every capture starts at a transaction.
  3. Over SCPI: :NOVAos:BUS1:MODE OWIRe, and :NOVAos:BUS1:DATA? returns the event table as CSV.

Where it stands

Built on both families, and held row for row to what Saleae's Logic 2 decodes from the same recorded capture. Real DS2482, DS1990A and DS18B20 parts are being set up on our bench. Demo video coming. The request it came from.

A paid add-on; none is for sale yet. Everyone named on its request page keeps it free. Core and add-ons.
